West Sacramento is a city with substantial diverse populations including members of the Latino, Russian, Sikh, Southeast Asian, Native American and African American communities. This diversity extends to all ages, income and educational levels, businesses and social opportunities.
In March of 2015 Neighbors Fair was issued a construction permit by the FCC entitling it to proceed with the construction of an LP radio station with the call sign KYWS-LP.
The station’s professional memberships will include the West Coast Public Radio, National Federation of Community Broadcasters and the Pacifica Foundation.
Neighbors Fair Community Radio as envisioned is defined by certain common characteristics that it will share with other similar stations such as educational, local based and non-commercial programming format.
The station depends on the support of the community it serves, local control, and programming that unique to our area, which distinguish it as a community radio station.
Neighbors Fair VisionThe station as it is envisioned will provide music, culture, news and public affairs to listeners in the West Sacramento and East Yolo County metro area. Neighbors Fair will broadcast will every day of the year, 10 hours per day on air and offer two audio streams via its website. Further, the station will be made universally accessible to the public via a Public Radio Tuner app for iPhone or iPod.
